Architect & Engineer Specifications - SR RTA

The RTA shall be a window-type 31-band real time analyzer with frequency detectors on standard ISO one-third octave center frequencies ranging from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The windows shall consist of 31 vertical columns of 5 LEDs per column calibrated to read in both 1 dB increments at -2, -1, 0, +1, +2 dB and 3 dB increments at -6, -3, 0, +3, +6 dB. The vertical LED resolution shall be switchable on the front panel to either 1 dB r 3 dB increments. The LED meters shall be peak-reading.

A calibrated, omni-directional, back-electret, condenser-type measurement microphone with 40 foot cable shall be included with the RTA to be plugged into a front-panel unbalanced 1/4" TS jack. +15V phantom power shall be supplied to this calibrated microphone jack to power the measurement microphone. A balanced XLR auxiliary mix input shall be located on the rear panel for use with other microphones. Additionally, the unbalanced 1/4" rear-panel line input shall be available for running line level signals directly into the RTA. A front-panel rotary input gain control shall control the gain of the calibrated microphone, the auxiliary microphone, or the line input. Use of the calibrated mic input shall disable the auxiliary mic and line inputs.

The RTA shall have an internal pseudo-random, digitally-synthesized white noise generator which shall be internally filtered to create pink noise. Pink noise level shall be controlled by a front-panel rotary pink noise level control and shall vary from -26 dBu to -7 dBu. Pink noise shall be available at an unbalanced 1/4" TS line out/pink noise hack on the rear panel. A front-panel pink noise switch shall enable or disable the pink noise at this output. When pink noise is disabled, the line input signal shall be routed directly to the line output jack.

A front-panel rocker-type power switch shall provide visual indication with red marking. The power supply shall be internal with a thermally-fused transformer. The power cord shall be detachable from an international standard IEC 320 power inlet receptacle. Unit shall be constructed ot meet or exceed all applicable international safety and regulatory agencies. Unit shall be powered from 120 VAC 60 Hz (or 100 VAC 50/60 Hz, 230 VAC 50 Hz, 240 VAC 50 Hz). Unit housing shall be of all steel construction and shall be rack-mountable in an IEC standard 19" rack and shall occupy a 1U (1.75") rack space.

The unit shall be a DOD RTA Real Time Analyzer.
